The Summit Push
Base Arrival & Nyabitaba
Transfer to Kasese on Day 1. On Day 2, start the trek from Nyakalengija through the forest zone to Nyabitaba Hut (2,650m). Listen for the sounds of Chimpanzees and Blue Monkeys.
The Bigo Bog Challenge
Climb to John Matte Hut (3,505m). Day 4 takes you across the legendary Bigo Bog via wooden boardwalks to Bujuku Hut (3,962m), surrounded by the peaks of Speke and Baker.
Elena Hut Base Camp
A steep climb through the alpine zone. Arrive at Elena Hut (4,541m). This is your rocky base for the final ascent. Prepare your ice axes and crampons.
Margherita Peak (5,109m)
Start at dawn. Traverse the Margherita Glacier to reach the roof of the Rwenzoris. After the summit, begin the long descent to the beautiful Kitandara Lakes.
Descent & Return
Trek through the Scott-Elliot pass to Guy Yeoman Hut. On Day 8, finish the descent back to Nyakalengija. Day 9 is a scenic drive back to Entebbe for your departure.
