The Habituation Journey
The Road to the Impenetrable
Morning departure from Entebbe. Drive through the lush rolling hills of Kigezi to the Rushaga Sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This sector is the exclusive home for the habituation experience.
4-Hour Gorilla Habituation
Unlike the standard 1-hour trek, you will spend 4 full hours with a Gorilla family under habituation. Accompanied by UWA researchers, you'll learn to identify individuals and observe their wild behaviors as they become accustomed to human presence.
Golden Monkey Habituation
Head to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for another specialized experience. Track and spend extended time with the rare, endangered Golden Monkeys in the bamboo forests of the Virunga Volcanoes.
Lake Mutanda Relaxation
Decompress after the intense jungle treks with a day at Lake Mutanda. Enjoy a canoe ride across the crystal-clear waters with the three majestic volcanoes—Muhabura, Gahinga, and Sabyinyo—as your backdrop.
Return Flight/Drive
Begin the journey back to Entebbe. Reflect on your unique contribution to conservation science as you traverse the "Switzerland of Africa" for your departure flight.
